Thanksgiving

Thank You 2

This post has nothing to do with travel. I have been writing about my Grand Tour, 5 bars in Europe you should visit, and travelling the road to Santiago. Check out those posts if you’re interested in my travels. Today, I want to address my readers directly.

First and foremost, on the day the United States celebrates a day of Thanksgiving, I have to say thank you to all my readers. I could never have envisioned the blog being as successful as it is in this short amount of time. I expected to languish in relative obscurity for some time. But you guys have been awesome. I’ve had people commenting, e-mailing me, and contacting through social media. And that’s where I’d like to start.

People that have really helped

So many people have given great comments, advice and criticism, its difficult to list them all here. Here are some people and blogs you should definitely keep an eye on for top-notch travel info.

@thefutureisred – Leight is a authority-challenging blogger who picked up and moved to Argentina. You can read her here. She has written some great articles about social media and travel.

@pen4hire – Vera writes on of the most original travel blogs around. She reviews travel related literature and has some great ideas about reading and travel. Her blog is A Traveler’s Library.

@chrisguillebeau – Chris is THE authority on Non-Conformity. In fact, his blog is titled The Art of Non-Conformity. He’s one of the main reasons I got into blogging, and if you’re not reading his blog, which covers entrepeneurship, art, travel-hacking and general awesomeness, you’re missing out.

@DonnaLHull – She writes My Itchy Travel Feet, and was kind enough to include my suggestion for a gift idea. I admire her because she’s really using social media positively to enhance her writing and engage with her audience. Go Donna!

@ARoadRetraveled – Simone writes a fabulous blog and also produces travel videos! She has extraordinary videos about Crown Princess, and my personal favorite, a spectacular Italy series of posts.

And Thank You to my readers

Without you, this would be a very boring blog. I’ve had readers from almost every continent now (C’mon, Africa, I know you can do it!), and regular readers from Korea, Thailand, Japan, South America and Europe. Even Singapore!

What to expect

Ah, Mr. TurkeyThe blog will be transitioning to a twice-a-week publication model. Not because I don’t love to write, but with a twice-a-week model, it’s easier for me to deliver you more quality content. Eventually as time goes on, I will add features. I will be publishing on Thursdays and Sundays. This week, there will be no Thursday publication, due to the U.S. Holiday. However, there will be a Friday installment of “Food Fridays,” the segment where I discuss a food-related area of travel. Regular publication will resume on Sunday, when myself and all my American readers recover from their turkey-induced comas.

I just came across this post today. Thank you for including me in the list. I appreciate it.

And yes, no blog is complete without readers! So true.
